G-Force Grand National Series Kicks Off Tuesday

Fresh off the finish of the Hijinx Clothing Vintage Cup Series, the G-Force Sim Racing crew takes on the ARCA cars for the next 12 Tuesdays. The Grand National Series powered by the Juicebox Podcast kicks off November 3rd at Nashville with over 25 cars set to take the green.

The series will visit a short track heavy schedule, with a few 1.5 mile tracks mixed in. Among the entries are the drivers that ran a majority of the ’87 series, in addition to about 20 newcomers. The mix of experience will create exciting door to door racing for the entire season.

As a bit of a sneak peek, I have tabbed a handful of cars to keep an eye on as championship contenders. Blaine Akin won 3 short track races in the Vintage Cup Series which bodes well for a short track heavy schedule. Gerald Campbell won 5 races in 13 starts, which would’ve been 6 without miscommunication on a late pitstop at Darlington. Campbell will be a tough out if he can keep up those kind of victory numbers. Chris Morse Jr. will always be a tough out with his consistency, top 3 finishes in 9 of 16 races will rack up points very quickly. A couple dark horse title contenders are Jake Hounshell and Dallas Myhand. Both are capable of winning races and Myhand has the consistency of the likes of Morse Jr. If Hounshell can avoid disaster, as bad luck seems to find him, he will be around when it matters.
