Week 9 NFL Preview

Week 9 started off with a beatdown by the Packers last night. The rest of the slate may not be the best of games but a few stick out in my mind as the best games.

Seahawks at Bills
Gametime: Sunday 1:00 pm
Spread: Seahawks -3
Total: O/U 54.5

What to Know: The Seahawks possibly had their best defensive performance of the season last week against the 49ers and they add two big pieces for the matchup against the Bills. Jamal Adams has missed the last four games due to injury and Carlos Dunlap was recently acquired from the Bengals. Josh Allen loves to throw the ball downfield. Teams that have beat the Bills this year have been able to sit in coverage and keep the ball in front of them. All Russell Wilson will need is a few stops to win this game and I think the defense gives that to him.

Gambling Tip: The Seahawks are 7-1-1 against the spread since 2018 and 9-0 straight up when coming to the east side of the country.

Prediction: Seahawks 21 Bills 17

Ravens at Colts
Gametime: Sunday 1:00 pm
Spread: Ravens -1.5
Total: O/U 47.5

What to Know: The Colts quietly sit at 5-2 behind Philip Rivers leading the Colts offense. They rank 5th in yards per pass attempt. The Ravens defense is very good but I think they still give up some points in this one. The true test will be what Lamar Jackson is able to do against this Colts defense. The front 7, including Darius Leonard, Julian Blackmon, DeForest Buckner, will have their hands full trying to contain this top ranked rushing offense. They lead the league in interceptions though and Lamar Jackson has shown he will make a few mistakes in the air. I think this continues this week to help the Colts stay in the game but the Ravens pull it out in the end.

Gambling Tip: Colts are 0-3 against the spread as a home underdog under Frank Reich.

Prediction: Ravens 30, Colts 27

Saints at Bucs
Gametime: Sunday 8:20 pm
Spread: Bucs -4.5
Total: O/U 50.5

What to Know: Is this year the end of Drew Brees? Without Michael Thomas, teams have been able to keep the ball in front of them as Brees continues to struggle to throw the ball down the field. The Bucs have a good enough defense to do much of the same even with Michael Thomas possibly returning. The Bucs should roll in this one and take a lead in the NFC East.

Gambling Tip: Saints games are 7-0 this season for hitting the over.

Prediction: Saints 23 Bucs 28
