Yesterday was a rough day. I won my only pick in the NBA as the Pacers pulled it out late against the Rockets. I went with two underdogs that I thought could compete and keep the game close but teams got run off the floor in the second half. Keep following along on my personal twitter account @jteezy4 and our twitter account @sportshiftmedia just in case I don’t have time to get a blog out with the picks.
Oregon +3.5 at Colorado
The Ducks are on an eight game win streak after losing their opener to Missouri. We have seen that Missouri is a respectable loss over the last few weeks so this Oregon team is good. They are filled with upperclassman transfers with a lot of experience and are underdogs against Colorado team that lost two of their last three to Arizona and UCLA. Hammer the Ducks.
Iows -5.5 at Maryland
Maryland has lost four of their last six but was able to pull off the upset against then #8 Wisconsin. That Wisconsin team doesn’t score the basketball like this Iowa team. The defense for the Hawkeyes still isn’t where it needs to be so the over is also a potential play here. Maryland ranked 13th in offensive efficiency according to KenPom. But when the game gets tight down the stretch, I trust Luka Garza and the rest of the Hawkeyes being able to hit big baskets and pull out a victory.
76ers/Nets under 226.5
Kevin Durant and Spencer Dinwiddie are not available tonight for the Nets who have been putting up a bunch of points so far this season. I think that brings down the points scored by this group. On Philadelphia’s side, this is their third game in four days so you might have some tired legs even early in the season. This is a big matchup between two power houses in the East so I expect them to step up and play a little defense to keep this one under.
