There are so many games to keep an eye on today. A full slate of college basketball, eight NBA games, and three NFL playoff games. This is a big day for the gambling corner also. This will be the first day with picks from multiple people. Jake has a few plays for football and basketball so we’ll dive into those. Hank also has some NFL picks to add in to the mix to get you through the day. Strap in; it’s gonna be a great day.
Bills/Colts under 51.5
This total is begging you to take the under and I’m still getting sucked into it. Fanduel has it sitting at 51.5 which could still hit in a 27-24 game. That is the high point I see for this one. Both defenses make you work for everything. If the Colts can control things when they have the ball and successfully run it with Jonathan Taylor, possessions could be hard to come by.
Seahawks -3 vs Rams
Russell Wilson put up MVP type numbers through the first half of the season but I didn’t believe this team could do anything come playoff time because of the defense. The second half has been a completely different story as they’ve changed their style into a more balanced team leaning on the run. The defense has stepped up and held teams to 17 or less in five of their last six. They just beat this team by 11 a few weeks ago and without Goff, I don’t think the Rams have much of a chance.
Buccaneers/Football Team under 44.5
The Washington Football Team came through winning the terrible NFC East and get handed a first round matchup against a six time Super Bowl Winner. The defensive front will have fun getting after Brady. He has to get rid of the ball quick to keep Chase Young out of this game. I think that that front seven is going to be able to cause enough havoc to make this game messy. The Bucs will still win but I think they would have to get to 35 to have a chance in this over hitting.
Rhode Island +5.5 at VCU
VCU has wont seven straight on the way to a 9-2 record. However, they have not played a top 100 team since their loss to Penn State all the way back on December 2nd. On the other side, Rhode Island has fought their way to a 5-6 record with the 31st toughest schedule in the country. They are into conference play now going up against teams that they know well. Rhode Island beat VCU in both matchups last year and Fatts Russell put up 30 points in the final matchup. He has struggled from three the last few games but I think he breaks out in this one.
Oklahoma State -8.5 at Kansas State
This is a gut pick game. I watch a lot of Big 12 basketball with West Virginia playing in the conference. Cade Cunningham and the Cowboys are young and very talented while Kansas State is rolling along as the bottom dweller in the league. Oklahoma State will also be looking to rebound after giving up a 19 point lead in the loss to West Virginia on Monday.
I never got reasoning behind these pick’s so if you want to have a fun conversation about football, tweet at @Hank_NaughtonJR and ask him yourself. We’ll be going up against each other in the Rams/Seahawks game so be on the lookout for some sort of wager between us on twitter tomorrow morning.
