AP Poll Drops: Kansas Win Propels Mountaineers

Two very different games this week for West Virginia but the same result occurred with the Mountaineers winning both. Iowa State attempted to comeback in the second half but West Virginia held on 76-72. Saturday kicked off a six game slate against ranked opponents and the Mountaineers started it off with a 91-79 win. The Kansas win kicked the Jayhawks out of the Top 25 for the first time in twelve years. West Virginia was able to move up 3 spots to #14 in the AP poll, right behind Big 12 foes Texas and Oklahoma.

News just broke that the Baylor has postponed both games next week due to COVID protocols. The team will wait and see when that game gets rescheduled but for now let’s focus on the games this week. The Mountaineers will face Texas Tech tomorrow night at 9 pm and Oklahoma on Saturday at 1 pm.
